EndNote: Home

Guide to using EndNote, software that helps organise your reference sources. Also allows you to create in text citations and a list of references as you type in Microsoft Word.

Alert for Mac OS users of EndNote

EndNote X7 and EndNote X6 do not currently fully support the Mac Sierra OS, which launched 20 September 2016. In beta testing there were issues in using pdf attachments in EndNote that are yet to be resolved by the publisher.  AUT Library suggests that Mac users who are wishing to use EndNote X7 or X6 postpone their Mac operating system update.

EndNote is personal reference management software available on the Auckland University of Technology Network. AUT staff and students may also download it for free from the AUT website for off-campus use.

Use EndNote to help with your referencing:

  • Store, manage and organise your references
  • Create bibliographies and reading lists
  • Import references directly from Library databases
  • Create in-text citations and a list of references as you type
