EndNote X4.0.2

EndNote X4.0.2
The AUT Library currently supports version X4.0.2.  It is used in our introductory and postgraduate workshops. Check out this online tutorial.

Get EndNote
To find out how to obtain the EndNote software for your personal computer or laptop, see the Get the Software tab in this guide.

EndNote

is personal reference management software available on the AUT University Network. AUT staff and students may also download it for free from the AUT University website for off-campus use.

Use EndNote to help with your referencing:

  • Store, manage and organise your references
  • Create bibliographies and reading lists
  • Import references directly from Library databases
  • Create in-text citations and a list of references as you type

Alternatives to Using EndNote

Zotero

Zotero is a free extension for the Firefox web-browser which enables you to collect, manage, and cite your research sources. If you wish to use this as an alternative to EndNote, you can download it from the Zotero website. The site includes a Quick Start Guide and other Support information.

Word 2007

Word 2007 (Windows) and Word 2008 (Mac) have a built-in referencing function that will help you to insert citations and format a reference list in your document. This function may be sufficient for simple referencing. Use these guides:
