ORCID and Researcher Profiles

Scopus Author ID & profile

The Scopus Author Identifier assigns a unique number to groups of documents written by the same author via an algorithm that matches authorship based on a certain criteria.

Scopus author ID can be used for the following purposes:

  • collects an author's various names and adds these names under one author identifier
  • analyses citations of your articles and get your author h-index
  • connects with ORCID records

Search your name to see if you have an ID (or multiple IDs).

More than one Scopus author ID?

You may find more than one Author ID for you in Scopus as a result of different names used in your publications. You can ask Scopus to merge your author IDs into one.

  • Go to Scopus
  • Click Author Search and type your name in the search box
  • If there are more than one results for your name, check the publications listed under these names to ensure they are your publications
  • Select your various names from the search results, and click "Request to merge authors" on the Toolbar. Follow the steps to submit your request.

Link your Author ID with ORCID

You may like to have your publications in Scopus to be exported automatically to your ORCID record. This can be done by linking your Scopus Author ID with your ORCiD ID.

Click in your author profile page and complete the steps to set up this connection.

If you do not have an ORCiD ID, complete a registration through AUT Research Elements to create one.
