Referencing

The School of Law uses the referencing style New Zealand Law Style Guide (NZLSG). For the full style guide and other assistance go to Legal Referencing & Citation Tools 

APA for Legal Resources

Students studying in other areas such as Business, Health, Engineering etc, primarily use the APA referencing style and may need to cite legal material.

Use this link to the APA 7th guide for assistance. 

Students taking Business Law or Taxation papers often use a hybrid version of APA and NZLSG. Refer this guide for examples of in-text citations and a bibliography below.

Understanding Legal Abbreviations

Law Journals and Cases use abbreviations to identify the journal titles and courts for example: NZLJ = New Zealand Law Journal

Students using APA will need to use the full titles when referencing journals article.
