Course Resources @ AUT

A guide to Course Resources for students and lecturers.

Linking sections in Blackboard

Your paper should already have a Course Resources tab in Blackboard, but you can also link to specific sections of the list.

Please watch the following video for instructions:

For general enquiries, please contact your Liaison Librarian.

For more copyright help, please contact the Copyright Advisor.

If you have feedback, suggestions, or find that anything was not covered in this LibGuide, please contact the Course Resources Specialist.

AUT has implemented systems and practices to ensure copyright compliance as part of its institutional copyright licence agreement.

Course Resources (Talis) is one such system, which allows the creation of online readings lists to help you provide access to students, and removes the risk of copyright breach from loading copies of readings directly onto Blackboard by:

  • Providing direct links to readings and other resources available online.
e.g., Library e-journals and databases, websites, YouTube, etc.
  • Showing live Library availability information for items only available in hard copy.
    e.g., books, DVDs, etc.
  • Giving you the option to request scans of resources otherwise only available in print.
The Request Digitisation function automatically checks the request against the CLNZ licence rules, and the Library makes the scans available directly via your list.
  • Helping to report on what you use each semester.
Using Course Resources replaces the manual copyright surveys, traditionally undertaken every few years, as reports will be generated electronically via the system.

Here are some useful resources on copyright:
