Key information

• Articles accepted between 1 January and 31 December of the year the agreement is in place are eligible
• There is no cap on the number of articles per year that can be published under this agreement

• Includes all hybrid and fully open access journals published by the Society

Eligible authors

To be eligible for publishing with no APC fees:

• You must be the corresponding author. 
• You must use your AUT email
• You must use Auckland University of Technology as you affiliated institution

• The Royal Society Read and Publish for authors 
• The Royal Society Author guidelines

Submission 

• Publishing your open access article in Royal Society Open Science or Open Biology
• Publishing your open access article in our hybrid research journals
• The Corresponding author must submit the article
• Use your AUT email address
• Select Auckland University of Technology as your affiliation
   

On acceptance

• You will be provided with a link to the Copyright Clearance Center Rightslink open access page
• Follow the on-screen instructions
• The APC is waived for authors who have:
  • used their institutional (AUT) email address 
  • selected AUT as their institutional affiliation from a drop down list
