Self-guided learning: EndNote

The information here is to help you learn to use EndNote on your own computer. Please be sure that you are confident installing software and with navigating your computer. 

Before you start learning EndNote, you must

  1. Understand referencing and academic integrity          
  2. Know how to create manual references in the style your Faculty or School recommends.

We recommend this order for self-directed learning of EndNote:

  1. Watch the videos
  2. Read the guides
  3. Work your own way through the handout or attend a workshop

GOLDEN RULE: Make and use ONE EndNote library only. Do NOT use multiple libraries!! Sync your library when working on different computers, and use group sets to divide topics within your ONE library. 

Download & install EndNote software (off campus only)

AUT students log in to Blackboard. Find the Student Links box and click AUT_DOWNLOAD_ORG

AUT staff download from  using your AUT username and password.
