Creative Commons is an international non-profit organisation that provides free licences to enable people to share and reuse copyright works. 

Creative Commons licences give users permission in advance to share, adapt or remix a work legally. There are six different licences, each with different restrictions ranging from non-commercial use, to full commercial use.

Works assigned a Creative Commons licence are a legal alternative to using copyright protected material in your research. You can also assign your research or creative outputs a creative commons licence.
