Who is Statistics NZ?

Statistics New Zealand Tatauranga Aotearoa is New Zealands official data agency.  It is a government department.
Stats NZ collects information from people and organisations through censuses and surveys and use this information to provide data and statistics about New Zealand.  It is the place to find official New Zealand statistics.

NZ statistics for researchers

Under an agreement between Stats NZ and NZ universities, a wide range of statistical resources are available to AUT researchers. 

AUT researchers can request an update to any of the tables in the data packages via info@stats.govt.nz 

AUT researchers can request datasets from confidentialised unit record files via info@stats.govt.nz
