What is Mendeley?
Mendeley is a tool for reference management.
Mendeley provides a desktop software and an online library for managing references. You can sync your desktop library with your online library.
Mendeley features
- Free to download
- Versions available for Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems
- Using your AUT email to register with Mendeley will give you 100 GB personal storage; 100 GB shared storage; 1000 private groups of up to 100 collaborators
- Use the Web Importer to capture references, and full-text documents (PDF) if available
- Share your reference folders with colleagues or other researchers
- Generate formatted in-text citations and reference lists within word processor documents (e.g. Microsoft Word)
- Import and annotate PDFs

- Mendeley released a new desktop version Mendeley Reference Manager in 2021.
