Key information

• Articles accepted between 1 January and 31 December of the year the agreement is in place are eligible 
• There is no cap on the number of articles per year that can be published OA under this agreement
• There is also a 20% discount on APCs when publishing with Sage Gold OA journals

Included journal titles

• Includes most of Sage's hybrid journals
• Check the Eligible journals list
• 10 Sage Choice journals are excluded in this agreement

Eligible authors

To be eligible for publishing with no APC fees:

• You must be the corresponding author. 
• You must use your AUT email
• You must use Auckland University of Technology as your affiliation

• Original research papers
• Review papers
• Brief communications
• Short reports
• Case reports

Author information

• Sage Instructions for hybrid OA authors

Submission 

• Follow the publisher's usual article submission process via the journal's homepage
• The Corresponding author must submit the article
• Use your AUT email address and use Auckland University of Technology as your institutional affiliation 
   

On acceptance

• Sage will automatically recognise your eligibility for publishing with the journal without an APC fee
• When the article is accepted, you will receive a confirmation of  this and your eligibility for free APCs
• Click the Select a publishing route button in the email and select Open access and an OA license.
• You will receive an email confirming that you have selected an OA license for your article
• The APC is waived for authors who have:
  • used their institutional (AUT) email address 
  • selected AUT as their institutional affiliation from a drop down list
